1999-2000 4M32 FMS Radio/CD Player Replacement Information I didn't like the fact that the original CD player in my 2000 wouldn't play "home made" CD's very well, so I did my homework and found that the Mazda Millenia dual DIN radio was a direct replacement for the CD and tape player in my '00. I found a new one for sale on eBay for $192 and it is a 100% match. It is a model YL 84 18C868 A, and has a few more features than the original (random and repeat for the CD etc.) OK, for all the '99 & '00 owners with an 4M32 radio/CD player, (the 4M32 is printed on the top right front corner of the radio) here's how to swap out the out with the new: Pop off the dim covers on your CD (and optional tape player). Insert the 4 dim tools that come with the new radio and wiggle and pull the radio and tape units out to a point where you can unplug the cables. On the radio there are 4 connectors and a ground spade. There is a standard antenna connector, a connector for the optional tape deck, the main connector and next to it is a headset connector. You will not need the crossover cable for the tape deck with the new unit. On the back of the radio and tape units are two rubber plugs used to hold up the back of the units. You will need to move one of these to the back of the new unit. I had to find a longer screw for the new unit, cut off the head and screw it into the hole on the new unit. The screw on the new unit is a different diameter then the old one, but the plug will fit on it. I guess you don't actually need this plug, but since it supports the back of the unit, I went with it. In the hole where the old radio was, there is a thin plastic bar separating the top and bottom DIN bays. Cut it off (I used a wire cutter) at both ends so the new unit will go in. Insert the 4 DIN tools into the new radio, plug in the antenna, ground and main plug and slip the dual DIN unit in where the 2 single DIN units were. Note: I had a little problem here because the cables kept getting balled up behind the unit, preventing it from sliding in all the way. I resolved this by reaching up from under the dash and pulling the cables back as I pushed the unit in. Remove the DIN tools, reinstall the DIN covers and you're ready to go!
